Goodbye, Doubt!

Have you been working on your dream for a while, only to realize you’ve made very little progress?

It’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t seem to be coming together as you anticipated. Any dream worth pursuing will be met with moments of disappointment. It’s what happens during the in-between that determines how, or if, you rise up to the next challenge.

Have you found yourself entertaining the uncertainty with thoughts of “maybe this is not for me” or “maybe I’m not meant to be successful at this”? These are the type of thoughts that can stop you from achieving next level success. If this is you, it’s time to say, “Goodbye, doubt!”

About Doubt:

  • Doubt can exonerate an innocent man and hold an entrepreneur captive.

  • Doubt is a powerful 5 letter word with the ability to send you places you never intended on going.

  • Doubt will cause you to bow down in its presence. It will make you feel insignificant when you’re capable of being great.

  • Doubt is not someone you hang out with too long. It invites discouragement, laziness, complacency, and a quitter’s mentality.

  • Doubt can unravel months, even years of progress in just a flash.

If doubt is capable of such destruction, why do we give into its seductive powers so easily? We live in a culture that does not reward the effort, only the outcome. With this being the reality, staying committed to your own success despite how it looks takes work. To make meaningful progress you have to manage how you think and what you do.

How You Think:

  1. You must believe you can achieve success. Belief in yourself and your abilities is powerful, and it has the ability to overtake doubt.

  2. Stop comparing yourself to others. It’s difficult to live up to a metric that changes with everyone you meet. It questions your abilities and invites doubt.

What You Do:

  1. Examine your habits. What old habits do you need to stop? What new habits do you need to start?

  2. Focus on growing yourself to be better every day. Look for what you learned each day versus just focusing on what you did.

Don’t let doubt hold you hostage. Manage your thoughts and actions, and you will achieve the success you’re working towards.
